Some random thoughts...

Does anyone feel as blessed as I do to live in a place like the USA?!!! We have been spared the huge natural disasters like the two that have been in the news lately. The cyclone that hit Myanmar left major devastation and death. Estimates now range between 68, 000 to 127,000 dead. The earthquake in China has left at least 15,000 dead, with up to 25,000 buried under rubble. I cannot wrap my mind around numbers like that! I don't want the huge numbers to de-sensitize me to the reality of individual human suffering. I want to share in the emotional pain brought on by the plight of fellow human beings that God created.
